The past few months have been a whirlwind of family firsts, emotional endings and upcoming uncertainty. Special needs conferences, new diagnosis for some, confirmed diagnosis for others after years of waiting, 18th birthdays, graduations, planning for major surgery, collage acceptance letters, guardianship hearings and never ending stream of doctor and therapy appointments. In all this...I have held tight to my sanity, all be it sometimes by a thread, due to my support system. I know that I am blessed to have one, and that not everyone has the luxury of a network of people who understand and can be there for you even when they may not understand what it is to be in your place. So I want to acknowledge the value of those who are and say thank you.
